Gordon Rice – Owner
Gordon originally started the business and later his son, Mike joined. He knows all the ins and outs of the car business. For 40+ years, he’s been personally shopping for cars for our customers! Gordon has a commitment to ensuring our customers have great vehicles to choose from. When he’s not working, you’ll find Gordon enjoying NASCAR and local sporting events. He’s a huge fan of Chevy trucks as well! He also has the sweetest dog named Ruby! You can find her around the office from to time!
Mike Rice – Owner & President
Mike is Gordon’s son and he handles the day to day operations of the business. He’s usually always on the road buying vehicles for our customers. Mike has been in the car business for over 36 years and he’s pretty much the go-to man for everything Cars of Kentucky! Just like his Father, he has an unwavering commitment to our customers and finding the right vehicle for everyone. Mike is happily married with two beautiful girls! In his free time you’ll find him at EKU or UK sporting events or trying to soak up some sun when he’s not working.
Shonda Boyer – Office & Title Manager
Shonda has been with Cars of Kentucky since September of 2002. Not only does she keep our office running smoothly but she’s also our title manager. She works tirelessly to ensure paperwork is filed correctly and customers receive vital documents in a timely manner. In Shonda’s free time (what little she has!) she enjoys weekend trips with her twin daughters and husband. She loves to golf, shop and spend time with her friends and family. She’s also the pickiest eater we’ve ever met… but we love her anyway!
Brandon Betts – Operations Manager
Brandon joined the Cars of Kentucky team back in the summer of June 2019 as our Internet Sales Manager and recently was promoted to our Operations Manager. Brandon works closely with customers and our team to ensure business is always running smoothly. He also assists customers with sales. Brandon moved to Kentucky from Virginia, but he proudly calls the bluegrass home. When he’s not running around the lot, you can find him enjoying hockey games, spending time with friends and loved ones at local community events. We’re happy to have Brandon as part of the Cars of Kentucky family. He cannot wait to help you!
Mario Sanchez – Lot Manager
Mario keeps our lot running smoothly! He’s been with us for over 10 years! He’s always making sure our vehicles meet our standards and are ready for our customers. From keeping the lot organized to final vehicle checks for buyers before they drive off the lot; he keeps things running like a Swiss watch! Mario, a Father of five recently married his lovely wife Anna and they have 3 beautiful girls together. When he’s not on the lot, you’ll find him spending time with his family or volunteering at his local church. Besides cars, Mario loves food and can help you find the best meal anywhere in Kentucky! We’re honored to have Mario as a part of our family and his dedication to our customers.
Jim Fitzpatrick – Senior Sales Specialist
Jim has been part of the Cars of Kentucky family since 2007. Most people know Jim as simply: “Porter.” He worked for Toyota South for 18 years before joining our team. He takes pride in his great customer service and likes to help customers in any way he can! In Jim’s free time he enjoys motorcycles, boating, and golf! Sadly, Jim retired from Cars of Kentucky back in July of 2019. But, he missed us so much that he’s now returned to a part-time schedule three days a week to help our customers.
Joe Francis – Service Manager
Joe recently joined our team and has fast become one of the family! Many people in Richmond know Joe from his time as the GM from Millers Tire’s Too. You cannot ask for a more knowledgeable individual when it comes to the ins and outs of cars. Originally, Joe was a small business owner for many years handling auto accessories before he moved to Millers. Now that he’s part of our team, you can see first hand the time and attention he spends with each vehicle. When he’s not handling cars, you can see Joe spending time with his family, supporting Madison Central’s Band program or camping out in the woods.
Corey Barnes
Corey is the newest addition to the Cars of Kentucky Family. A Kentucky native, Corey has a background in the service and automotive repair industry. He joined our sales team in the Summer of 2025.
